Some people prefer living in the countryside because of the peaceful and natural environment. In the countryside, you can enjoy fresh air, open spaces, and a closer connection with nature. It can be a great place for outdoor activities and a quieter lifestyle.

On the other hand, living in the city offers various opportunities and conveniences. Cities are usually bustling with energy, offering a wide range of cultural events, entertainment options, and job opportunities. Cities also tend to have better infrastructure, such as transportation networks, hospitals, and schools.

In terms of the advantages of living in the countryside, it provides a slower pace of life, closer community ties, and a greater sense of tranquility. The countryside also tends to have more affordable housing and a stronger connection to the natural world.

However, there can also be disadvantages to living in the countryside. It may be more difficult to access certain amenities and services, such as shopping centers or specialized medical care. Job opportunities can be limited, and there may be fewer educational opportunities compared to cities. Additionally, the countryside is changing in many ways. Due to advancements in technology and transportation, rural areas are becoming more connected and accessible. Some people are moving to the countryside to enjoy a quieter lifestyle, while others are attracted by the prospect of starting agricultural or eco-friendly businesses.

In conclusion, whether one prefers living in the countryside or the city depends on personal preferences and priorities. Both have their own unique charms and challenges, and it’s important to consider these factors when choosing a place to live.

Bustling with energy – Đầy năng lượng, sôi động.

Closer connection with nature – Mối quan hệ gần gũi với thiên nhiên.

Slower pace of life – Nhịp sống hậm rãi.

TĂNG TỐC KỸ NĂNG NÓI CHO CON, HỌC 1:1 VỚI GIÁO VIÊN NƯỚC NGOÀI CHUYÊN NGHIỆP, ĐĂNG KÝ NGAY

Chủ đề 3: Talk about your town or city

Bài mẫu tham khảo

Hanoi is my beloved hometown, the capital city of Vietnam. There are a few reasons for this. One is that people often dispose of waste in the wrong places. Industries also contribute by releasing untreated wastewater. The growing population adds to the issue of more solid waste being dumped into rivers. This pollution leads to the spread of diseases through contaminated water, harming people’s health. To solve this problem, we need better waste disposal systems and treatment methods. Education and awareness programs can also help control pollution and protect our water sources. Worshiping ancestors holds a special place in Vietnamese culture as it reflects the belief that the souls of the deceased, even after many generations, continue to reside alongside their descendants on Earth.

It is a common practice for Vietnamese families to have an ancestor altar in the largest room of their house. This sacred space is adorned with photos, incense, and offerings, serving as a place for family members to pay homage to their ancestors. The altar represents a connection between the living and the deceased, fostering a sense of reverence and gratitude for their contributions to the family’s lineage.

As the Vietnamese New Year, Tet, approaches, families come together to honor their ancestors in a unique way. They visit the gravesites of their ancestors, meticulously cleaning and decorating them. This act mirrors the care and attention given to cleaning and decorating their homes in preparation for the New Year. By tending to the graves, they show respect and ensure that their ancestors are included in the festive celebrations.

In conclusion, worshiping ancestors plays a vital role in the religious and spiritual life of the Vietnamese, particularly in rural areas. This practice symbolizes respect, gratitude, and the preservation of family ties. By honoring their ancestors, the Vietnamese maintain a strong connection to their roots, seeking blessings, protection, and guidance for themselves and future generations.

Thank you for your attention.

Từ vựng nổi bật

Dưới đây là một số từ vựng nổi bật trong bài nói trên:

Significance (Noun) – Ý nghĩa, tầm quan trọng.

Worship (Verb/Noun) – Sùng bái, lễ bái / Sự sùng bái.

Religious and spiritual life (Phrase) – Cuộc sống tâm linh và tôn giáo.

Rural areas (Phrase) – Khu vực nông thôn.

Ancestor altar (Phrase) – Bàn thờ tổ tiên.

Sacred space (Phrase) – Khoảng không linh thiêng.

Adorned (Verb) – Trang trí.

Incense (Noun) – Hương, nhang.

Offerings (Noun) – Các vật cúng.

Pay homage (Phrase) – Tỏ lòng tôn kính.

Connection between the living and the deceased (Phrase) – Mối liên kết giữa người sống và người đã khuất.

Reverence (Noun) – Sự tôn kính.

Gratitude (Noun) – Lòng biết ơn.

Lineage (Noun) – Dòng họ.

Vietnamese New Year (Tet) (Phrase) – Tết Nguyên Đán.

Approaches (Verb) – Gần đến, đến gần.

Meticulously (Adverb) – Một cách cẩn thận, tỉ mỉ.

Cleaning and decorating (Phrase) – Dọn dẹp và trang trí.

Mirrors (Verb) – Phản ánh, giống hệt.

Care and attention (Phrase) – Sự quan tâm và chăm sóc.

Festive celebrations (Phrase) – Những buổi lễ vui tươi.

Symbolizes (Verb) – Tượng trưng cho.

Preservation of family ties (Phrase) – Bảo tồn mối quan hệ gia đình.

Maintain a strong connection to their roots (Phrase) – Duy trì một liên kết mạnh mẽ với nguồn gốc của họ.

Seeking blessings, protection, and guidance (Phrase) – Tìm kiếm phúc lành, sự bảo vệ và sự hướng dẫn.

Trên đây là những bài nói tiếng Anh theo chủ đề lớp 8 học kỳ 1 để các em tham khảo và chuẩn bị cho bài thi nói của mình.
